Sleeps 2 in 1 bedroom; 1 bathroom with shower
A hidden part of the world. Undiscovered. A secret place. Lucky for you, you know the way.
The Bee Hive, located in Cushing, is a darling summer cottage overlooking Pleasant Point Harbor, a working waterfront. Cushing is a quiet, historic area of mid-coast Maine and is about 10 minutes from Thomaston, 20 minutes from Rockland (home of the Lobster Festival) and 2 hours from Bar Harbor.
Near the very end of coveted Stone's Point Road, the Bee Hive is pure and simple with views of the Muscongus Bay from virtually every window. A stroll down the green lawn puts you at the shore a perfect place to launch a kayak, read a book on the warm, smooth rocks or take a swim in the warmer months.
At the Bee Hive, it's hard to escape the gorgeous views the bedroom, living room and the dining room/sunroom provide magnificent views. Watch the sun rise and fall over Flea Island and the mouth of the harbor, drink in the beauty of the Caldwell Islands from the covered front porch or watch lobster boats come steaming in from a day's work on Penobscot Bay.
For a quaint summer cottage, the Bee Hive offers all the modern comforts of home. Wireless Internet, cell service, DVD player, CD player, cable television on a flat screen in the living room (the bedroom features a smaller television) and a full-sized washer and dryer. If you are a light sleeper, no worries room-darkening shades block out the light. A ceiling fan helps to cool things down on warm nights.
