The cottage, also known as Crockett's Cottage, sits on a parcel of land just 25 feet from the water's edge. Like all proper oceanfront summer cottages, it is oriented towards the water, with beautiful views of the beach and the open ocean from almost every room.
A nicely landscaped lawn surrounds the cottage and hedges of beach roses frame the path down to the beach and create a bit of privacy. A hammock sits under the mature maple tree, the covered swing is a perfect place to read and the picnic table will play host to many outside lobster bakes and cook outs.
The cottage is two stories with the spacious master bedroom occupying the second floor. This room has recently been renovated and offers vaulted ceilings and incredible views of the ocean. The master bedroom has a queen bed and cable television.
The first floor is really quite spacious for a cottage. The den area, at the back of the house, is a great place to relax at the end of the day. A pull-out sofa offers additional sleeping quarters as well. The den has a flat-screen television, a DVD player and cable television.
The dining room and living room are combined and this room is really the heart of the cottage. Lined with large windows overlooking the front lawn and the ocean, the dining room table is a place to eat, play games or put together a puzzle on a rainy day.
A very comfortable sofa and the gas-fired brick fireplace makes this room a popular spot to gather. There is also a desk tucked into the corner of this room, which is a perfect place to set up a remote station for a laptop — the cottage is equipped with WIFI Internet service as well.
The galley-style kitchen is reminiscent of days gone by with beautiful shiplap cupboards, built-ins, and a breakfast bar and is fully-equipped with the necessities of cooking. A coffeemaker, toaster and microwave are also provided.
There are two bathrooms at the cottage, both on the first floor.
Crescent Beach Cottage is located on a dead end road which minimizes traffic. This is a peaceful place within walking distance to the village center of Owls Head (find a neat General Store there, as well as a library, post office and a wharf to buy lobsters). Within a 5–10 minute drive, find Rockland and all it has to offer. Tenants Harbor, Port Clyde, Camden and Rockport are all a sort distance away as well.
Owls Head is a great place to feel away from it all while still having all the Midcoast area has to offer at your fingertips!
