Hupper House, Port Clyde

Sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms; 1 full bathroom and 1/2 bathroom

The Hupper House is a classic Maine house with three bedrooms and one full bathroom with tub and shower, and a powder room. The house sleeps 6 in three bedrooms; there is additional space in the boat house.

This house has stunning views of Port Clyde Harbor, Marshal Pont Light and Muscongus Bay. This house is on a quiet dead end road in Port Clyde village, which is know for lobster fishing and famous painters! The house is sheltered from the road by an evergreen hedge, it has a big lawn, edged with Rosa Rugosa and perennial gardens. The house faces east and southwest, and is right on the water with a large dock, float, a deck area on the water's edge, and a boat house with the water lapping at its foundation. There are two deep water moorings for your boat and two bicycles in the garage.

This 100 year old house of approximately 1800 sf is charming, completely comfortable and delightfully furnished. The cheery, well equipped, cooks' kitchen, stocked with all the basics staples, has center island, eating area, microwave, new 5 burner gas stove and convection oven and opens onto the living and dinning room, all with painted wood floors. There are views of the harbor and the ocean beyond from every room. The covered deck off the kitchen has Adirondack chairs, a hammock and is like a second living room. You will find a large collection of books, puzzles, games and a TV with cable and vcr/dvd/ and cd player in the living room, high speed cable internet access and unlimited phone service in both the house and boathouse There is a half-bathroom on the first floor. The heat is forced hot air and there is a wood burning stove. There is a Weber propane igniting charcoal grill and propane lobster steamer.

Upstairs: three bedrooms each with two single beds, high quality firm box springs/ mattresses, which can be made up as king sized beds; new full bathroom with shower/ tub; laundry room with full size washer/dryer with sink and extra storage. The beds all have wonderful quilts and comforters and good reading lights. All towels and linen are provided.

The spacious and irresistible boat house is a favorite place for cocktails, naps, or dinner on the water. Telephone, high speed internet service at the large workspace makes for an office with a spectacular view! The boat house has comfortable seating, a table for four and a wood stove.

Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the property and well trained pets are allowed with owners' permission. (DOGS ARE DISCOURAGED FROM BEING ON FURNITURE AND BEDS)
