Like the villages of Port Clyde, Tenants Harbor and Martinsville, Clark Island is part of Saint George. This dead end road is residential with a fabulous inn and restaurant at the end of the road. It is a perfect place to take a walk, ride bikes and explore.
Clark Island was a once-bustling town for the quarry workers who mined granite on the actual island. If you walk through the village, you can spot houses that were once the post office, general store, church and union hall. Tiny quarry-worker houses are still abundant, making this area beyond charming.
Equidistant to Port Clyde, Tenants Harbor and Rockland, Clark Island is an easy place to get anywhere from.
