LongPoint, Tenants Harbor
Main house sleeps 2 in 1 bedroom; 1 full bathroom
Bunkhouse sleeps 2 in 1 room; 1 full bathroom
As the owners of this truly magnificent property describe their heavenly piece of Maine, "LongPoint is where modern meets the Maine Coast."
Located on its own private peninsula, the cottage offers 270 degree views at all times of the year thanks to the exquisite design of Architect Rocio Romero.
Although this sleek, light-filled "cottage" is exceedingly modern in its design, even the most stringent traditionalist will agree LongPoint is gorgeous, superbly comfortable with unparalleled views and locale.
This is a "green" house, minimizing its impact on the environment once you see where LongPoint sits, it will become exceeding obvious how important it was to build and live green. The point of LongPoint is this it would be difficult to be any closer to the water without actually being in it.
The house is filled with light thanks to many large windows and sliding doors but privacy isn't an issue thanks to automatic shades (which still allow you to look out).
The main house is open-concept but has the ability to close the master off from the rest of the house.
The kitchen is high-end with all modern and necessary appliances, amenities and cooking implements for chefs of all skill levels. The movable island allows for extra prep space and opens up into a large island perfect for eating at. Off the kitchen, find a pantry with a washer and dryer.
The kitchen overlooks the living room complete with a flat screen television, a Bose sound system, DVD player and, most importantly, a view that can't be beat. A fireplace in the corner makes this room cozy and serene. LongPoint offers satellite television and high-speed Internet.
The master bedroom has a queen bed with excellent side lights for reading. The bathroom is off the bedroom with a luxury shower and a heated towel rack you won't know you wanted one until you have a warm towel to wrap up in!
There is access to the outside from the bedroom or the kitchen the kitchen entrance exits onto a fabulous deck overlooking the water and an outside charcoal grill which, due to its ingenious design, also doubles as an outdoor fireplace sit out under the stars and listen to the water hit the land right beneath your feet.
The bunkhouse is its own little haven a perfect melding of rustic and modern. Find a kitchenette, a table with stools for eating or working on a laptop, a full bathroom with a shower and an amazing bunk bed, made for adults not kids! The beds are bigger, more roomy and truly comfortable.
There are skylights and plenty of windows and thanks to vaulted ceilings and a ceiling fan, the bunk house stays very cool. This is duplicated in the main house high ceilings, ceiling fans and cross ventilation use the salty breeze off the ocean to keep things manageable on a hot day.
Enjoy a day as simple as pushing your kayak off the point to explore the Cove; as urban as Rockland and Camden, twenty minutes north, with plenty of culture, entertainment, eating and arts education; or as authentic as Maine's working waterfront in the villages of Port Clyde or Tenants Harbor, 10 minutes south down the St. George Peninsula. Or, chose simply to relax on your deck to read, write, paint, draw or dream. Discover the pleasures of time out of time at LongPoint.
