Lyon's Den, Otis Point, Tenants Harbor
Sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms; 1 full and 1/2 bathroom
Anyone who knows the Otis Point area of Tenants Harbor understands how magical this little point of land is. Located off of Turkey Cove Road, Otis Point and Lyon's Den sit equidistant from the villages of Port Clyde and Tenants Harbor.
Quiet and peaceful are terms synonymous with both Otis Point and this darling house. Lyon's Den is the summer home of a lobstering family from the area. The house sits nested in the tall, weather-worn trees of craggy Otis Point. With a large lawn in the back and a path to the water in the front, Lyon's Den is a place to sit back and relax it's the place to slow down and take that long break you have needed forever.
The downstairs area is open and bright thanks to lots of windows and beautiful French doors. Hardwood floors and area rugs keep this house feeling comfortable and cool. The living room has extremely comfortable furniture with a couch and a love seat, as well as a reading area with a plush chair. Included is a flat screen television, state-of-the-art stereo system and satellite service.
From the living room, French doors open onto the back deck outfitted with patio furniture and a mosquito-eater that makes it easy (and bearable) to be outside at dusk. A gas grill is also located here.
Between the living room and the dining area, find a multi-purpose room it's bright and sunny and would work perfectly as an additional reading area or library/work area.
The dining room has seating for 6 and opens onto the living room. This is also the place for games and jigsaw puzzles.
The kitchen is modern with ample counter space. New cabinetry (not shown in photos) and a new gas stove make this a great place for a cook of any level. The kitchen is fully equipped, with a small breakfast table great for morning coffee. The half bath is located off the kitchen.
Upstairs, find the two bedrooms. To the left, find the twin room with two extremely comfortable beds and views to the front and the back. Anyone who sleeps here with the window open will hear the water hit the shore.
The large full bath has double sinks, a full-sized washer and dryer and a shower/tub combination.
The master bedroom is phenomenal with vaulted ceilings and exposed beams, this room feels both spacious and cozy, a private retreat. There is a king-sized, super-comfortable bed, a walk-in closet and skylights. Views to the front and the back with limited views of the water through the trees. Guests will enjoy the flat screen television in this room as well.
The water front this house owns, accessed by a right-of-way steps from the house, is a great place to launch a kayak or canoe. Paddle around the cove or head out onto the saltwater river you can see up to Thomaston and over to Cushing. Kayak down to Port Clyde for dinner at the Dip Net or dessert at the Port Clyde Ice Cream Shop.
Ride your bike, take a walk, read a book, sit and watch the birds, listen to the water and the lobster boats hauling traps. Lyon's Den is a place to do it all when doing "nothing" is just what the doctor ordered.
