Rockport Walkabout, Rockport Village
Sleeps 78 in 4 bedrooms and 1 guest apartment; 3 full bathrooms and 1/2 bathroom
A house that affords its guests the freedom to walk most anywhere is indeed an asset in a vacation house.
Rockport Walkabout is located in Rockport Village. The house sits on one of the largest parcels in the village with 3.5 acres of woods and a well-landscaped lawn complete with a small stream running along the boundary. The house has a full, wrap-around covered porch with Adirondack chairs, a grill and lots of room for being outside in any weather.
Walk to the waterfront, shops, restaurants, galleries and libraries. You'll need a car to visit the other fabulous towns of Camden, Rockland, and St. George, but what fun it is to have a glass of wine on your porch, walk to dinner on the waterfront and then meander back through the amazingly-charming town of Rockport.
Like a home away from home, Rockport Walkabout is a comfortable and warm house. It's perfect for families or a group traveling together because it also has a separate apartment attached to the main house. This space can be closed off for privacy, making it ideal for grandparents, nannies or several couples staying together.
Inside, find a vaulted entryway and a large open floor plan. The eat-in kitchen is large, open and sunny with a dining table for eight. There is an island in the center of the kitchen great for informal breakfasts. This is a truly functional and beautiful kitchen with modern appliances and granite countertops. A laundry room and a half bath are down the hall along with a den/computer room.
A truly comfortable living room is on the left side of the entry hall with lots of seating and a working fireplace. The guest apartment is accessed from the living room. This area has a private exterior entrance, a full bathroom, a full kitchen and a living room area on the 1st floor of the apartment. A bedroom, accessed by a spiral staircase, can be made part of this area as well. The beauty of this house is its flexibility. The apartment bedroom can be shut off from the rest of the house or can be made part of the main house.
Upstairs in the main house find 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths and a family room a functional and relaxing room with a TV and lots of room to spread out.
The left "wing" has 3 bedrooms, 2 with twins and 1 with a queen. You must walk though one of the twin rooms to access the queen room. However, this larger bedroom can be locked so access is unavailable from the twin room. These rooms share a large full bath, as well.
The master is on the right of the family room. The master has high ceilings, a queen bed and a private bath with a separate tub and shower. All of the bedrooms are well lit with comfortable beds.
What you will find at Rockport Walkabout is lots of natural sunlight, comfort and home-away-from-home amenities.
Those with children will enjoy the swing-set, clubhouse, basketball hoop and a large lawn for playtime. The house also includes a computer with Internet access and cable TV.
