Sara's House is the perfect melding of traditional coastal charm and modern luxury, located on coveted Patten Point Road in Spruce Head, on a dead-end road excellent for walking and exploring.
Sitting less than 25 feet from the water, the house has a deck, a large green lawn and a private wharf jutting out into the waters of Spruce Head.
From almost every room you will see Spruce Head Island, Seal Harbor, lobster boats bobbing on their moorings and the open ocean beyond.
Because the house is southern-facing, it has sun all day and you can see the sun rise and the moon set right before your eyes over Spruce Head Island truly, the moonrise over the water and the full view of the Milky Way are both beyond description.
It won't matter the time of day, you will want to be on the deck or the wharf watching lobster boats, water birds swing by and the tide come in and out... and you will wish for nothing more. Put a kayak in, jump into the water from the wharf the possibilities are endless.
The first floor is open-concept with high ceilings, hardwood floors and floor-to-ceiling windows to let the view and natural light in. A small mudroom greets you and leads you into the main living area.
To the left see a bar area overlooking the kitchen the kitchen is fantastic and fully-equipped for cooking of all types. The island overlooks the dining area and the living room.
The dining area has seating for 6 and looks out onto the deck, wharf and waterfront. The living room area has amazing unencumbered views, plenty of comfortable seating and a working fireplace.
There is a bedroom on this floor with views of the water and a full bathroom for general use. This bathroom has a large, custom shower, a marble-top vanity and a washer and dryer.
Upstairs, find 2 more bedrooms, a den and a bathroom with an extra-deep Jacuzzi tub.
The twin room has two twin beds with windows overlooking the lawn and a skylight to let the salty breeze in. Down the hall, find a large bathroom with the Jacuzzi tub a thoughtfully-placed window lets you overlook the water without giving up privacy from the tub!
The sitting room and den area is a great place for reading or creating an office if work needs to be done during vacation.
The master bedroom is heavenly with vaulted ceilings and 180-degree views of the waterfront; the room is close to perfection. A large window-seat runs the length of the room a great place for cat naps, reading or just watching the water.
All bedrooms have window coverings for privacy and light control.
The crowning glory of the house is, of course, its outdoor living spaces that lead to the water. The deck has Adirondack chairs and the wharf has a wonderful picnic table. Think lobster dinner on your own private dock!
