Spindrift Cottage is the carriage house of a breathtaking and extraordinary residence on the bluffs of Deep Cove in Port Clyde.
The main house sits further down on the property, giving absolute privacy — you will not feel encroached upon by the main house at all.
You are amongst the tree-tops in this expansive and exceedingly comfortable guest house — a new deck offers outdoor living space and glimpses of the ocean beyond.
A stunning deep water dock is yours to use. Jutting out into Muscongus Bay, this marvel of engineering takes you down the bluffs to the waterfront, making swimming, kayaking and sailing an easy task.
A cupola and skylights allow for natural light to drench the open-concept interior. There are hardwood floors in the main living space and berber carpet in the bedrooms. The kitchen is recently updated with a gourmet Bertazzoni gas cooktop and a Gaggenau convection oven.
The large deck leads to the interior of the guest house through an open hallway — offering a place to take off sandy shoes and hang up wet towels — and into the main living area of the house. This is a large open space with lots of windows and natural light.
The kitchen is open and functional and has a table that can easily seat 6+ people.
The living room has 2 couches (one can easily be used as a twin bed) and comfortable lounge chairs. The house offers a flat-screen television with satellite reception and a DVD player. In addition, there is a desk — big enough for a laptop — for those who need to work during their vacation and WiFi is also offered.
Each bedroom is virtually the same in size and all have new, queen beds. One of the 3 bedrooms is large enough for a Pack 'n Play® or a small, portable bed if need be.
The bathroom is spacious and bright with a deep tub and shower.
The deck offers a gas grill and outdoor furniture. Walk or bike to Port Clyde Village or Tenants Harbor Village — fish off the wharf, explore the woods or head to Drift Inn Beach (less than a mile) for a wonderful day on the beach.
Spindrift is an ideal vacation house — uncomplicated sophistication melded with a classic Maine retreat.
Cars or vehicles of any sort are not stored in the garage below the residence, therefore noise or fumes will never be an issue for guests.
A new multi-tiered wharf is currently under construction with a completion date of the end of June 2012. This wharf, which takes guests down the bluff to the water, will allow for fishing, swimming, kayaking and boating. The wharf provides unlimited access to the open ocean as well as a small protected cove perfect for swimming.
