Weskeag Point House, So. Thomaston

Sleeps 8–10 in 4 bedrooms; 3 full bathrooms

Weskeag Point House is a lovely compound overlooking the reversing falls in South Thomaston on Hayden Point Road.

The house has a sprawling, well-manicured lawn with mature trees, over 200 feet of water frontage, a boat launch and lots of outdoor living space.

The Weskeag, pronounced Wes-keg, overlooks the quaint village of South Thomaston and its working waterfront. From the front yard, and virtually any room in the house, you will see lobster boats traveling in and out of the harbor and people fishing from the public landing or from a variety of small boats.

The town center has a general store, post office and a public library. Just minutes up the road, find the larger towns of Rockland and Camden, each with its own bustling and vibrant downtown area and waterfront.

This location is a kayaker's dream to view wildlife and to explore the waterfront — right from your front yard. A natural boat launch is located on the property making it easy to take advantage of the waterfront location.

With lots of outdoor living space, including two decks, a patio and a lovely hammock strung between two large trees at water's edge, Weskeag Point is a vacation retreat at its best. The main deck has outdoor furniture perfect for reading, sitting in the sun or eating outside.

Originally a fisherman's small house, the owners have renovated the property into a spacious, architecturally-attractive and comfortable year-round home. The house has a fully-equipped kitchen dining room, living room, media room, a bedroom, full bath and beach/sun room on the first floor.

Upstairs, in the bedroom wing of the house, find a master suite with a private deck and master bath along with a den/office area, two bedrooms and another full bathroom. All the bedrooms have beautiful views of the grounds and the water.

The house is equipped with a sound system in each room and cable and Internet as well.

The kitchen is separated from the living room and dining room by a breakfast bar — this is a full-size kitchen with a smooth-top electric stove, side-by-side refrigerator and a dishwasher. It is fully-stocked with all utensils, dinnerware, cookware, etc.

The dining room opens onto the front deck and seats 6 to 8 easily. The living room is bright and airy with very comfortable furnishings and cable television.

The den, which also opens onto the deck, is a true multipurpose room with a study-like feel. The entertainment center includes a large screen television with a DVD player, an Xbox gaming system, a full stereo system and surround sound.

There is a full bathroom on the first floor along with a first floor bedroom with a queen bed. This bedroom has lovely views of the water and is in very close proximity to the full bath.

The hallway leads upstairs to the second floor or to the beach room — a tiled room perfect for wiping off sandy feet or leaving wet bathing suits. The beach room also leads to the patio and the large Cedar Works play set on the side yard.

The master is large and light with a private deck. The master bathroom is wonderful with sky lights and a beautiful tiled walk-in/sit down glass shower.

The remaining bedrooms are located down the hall from the master, allowing for privacy.

The second upstairs bedroom is spacious as well, with a queen bed. The third bedroom has three twin trundle beds. These beds can be separated or can be put together for a king-sized bed. Both of these bedrooms are across the hall from the third full bath.

All bedrooms have ceiling fans, room-darkening window treatments and wonderful bedside lighting for reading.

The second floor also has an office/den which has a pull-out sofa and a desk for those who need to work during their vacation.
