Consider yourself lucky if you get the opportunity to stay at Clark Point – it truly takes your breath away. Even those of us who live here year round are mesmerized by absolute natural perfection this property provides.

Located on Clark Point, a beautiful section of the Clark Island area of the St. George Peninsula, the house sits on 3 private acres on 602 feet of bold oceanfront.

The shorefront reaches around three sides of the house, providing water views from virtually every window. Your view is of Wheeler's Bay and the open ocean beyond – you will see boats of every kind moving between the islands dotting the horizon, watch lobster boats haul traps, sit on the deck and watch bald eagles fish and seals sunning themselves on warm rocks when the tide recedes.

The Clark Island neighborhood also provides a place to launch a kayak or small boat (please inquire about details of use)

This is a private space, a haven in fact, and although there is so much to do in this part of Maine, it will be hard to pull yourself away from your captivating front row seat on the Maine Coast.

The waterfront is varied – rocky in some places and direct access to the ocean in others. A cedar lined path as well as a natural path takes you to the shore. The owners love the “morning coffee rock” - a beautiful place to start your day overlooking the ocean.

The house has an open concept and is designed to make the most of the glorious views that surround the property. An atrium style living room and dining room truly brings the outdoors in – often, it is hard to tell if there is any land between where you sit and where the ocean begins. 

A comfortable living room leads out the wrap around deck – find Adirondack chairs, a picnic table and a grill for time spent outside. The dining room can seat 6+ and offers extraordinary views as well.

A large loft (with solid knee wall and its own amazing views) overlooks the living room and dining room. This is a place to unwind and get comfortable at the end of the day – two large chairs and ottomans and floor pillows are centered around a large flatscreen television. The house has cable television and whole-house wireless Internet. 

The kitchen is open and centered around a large island. Well-equipped, there are high end appliances including a Jenn-Air gas stove with a grill. An induction cooktop, as well as lots of counter space, make meal preparations easy. Just below the kitchen in a small sun room with a bistro set – this is a fantastic place for breakfast in the morning. 

A laundry room is off the kitchen in the hallway with a full sized washer and dryer. 

There are two large bedrooms in a private wing of the house and each of the bedrooms has is own access to the deck. The first bedroom has vaulted ceilings, water views, a queen bed and use of the shared full bathroom (tub/shower) in the hallway. 

The master suite is lovely and spacious with a king bed. The en suite bathroom has an oversized shower, a double vanity and a Jacuzzi with some of the best water views in the house! The master has vaulted ceilings, a sitting area, private access to the deck and a large flat screen television. 

The finished basement offers a den with a futon and a bedroom (water views here as well) with a king bed. 

Time here at Clark Point will move slowly – the tide is the only clock you will need. Take a walk, explore the shoreline, ride a bike, go Kayaking or fishing. Drive into Rockland and Camden for an Art Walk or a concert. Head to Port Clyde or Tenants Harbor for dinner or a Puffin Cruise on the MV Monhegan. 

The possibilities are endless...if you can pull yourself away.

Dogs may be CONSIDERED with pet fee and acceptance of pet policy. We will need to know size,breed and age of the dog.
Shorter stays in the shoulder seasons may be available with a 3 night minimum.

We stayed at Clark Point for a week in July of 2014. The setting is absolutely idyllic! The home is beautiful with huge two story wall of windows that face the water on 3 sides of the home. I remember walking into the great room and gasping in awe when I saw the breathtaking views of the water from this home. It is like a private, serene retreat in nature! My favorite thing was watching the sunrise over the ocean in the morning as I sipped my coffee. This home is clean, cozy and well-kept. It had everything we needed to be comfortable. I loved the fact that you could not see the neighbors homes from the property, its completely private-- just you and the ocean. We loved that deer would graze in the yard in the mornings/evenings. We could also see seals and water fowl and lobster boats from the deck, (such a neat thing for a Midwest girl to experience!) My 10 year-old son and his cousin were with us. They loved climbing on the rocks and dipping their toes in the water! A short walk away is a tidal basin that provided the boys with hours of fun catching little crabs, splashing in the water and playing in the sand. Also nearby is a quarry with warm water that we were told is a favorite swimming hole of the locals. We didnt swim there because the water is very deep and we didnt have life jackets with us, but on our next visit we WILL come prepared for this. We also had several very fun day trips, one shopping in Camden, another day taking a cruise to Monhegan island, and some great hiking trips as well. The Lobster rolls were delicious and plentiful. The weather is so nice the week we were there and the scenery.well, theres NOTHING like it anywhere. I would stay at this home again in a heartbeat.


CHAIRS, TABLE AND GRILL ARE SECURED TO DECK. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE ANY ITEMS ON DECK UNATTENDED. Due to the chance of a summer storm popping up and the great windows looking at the ocean. Items can easily become projectiles on the ocean's edge. 

Swimming from the property is not encouraged due to the deep bold ocean. Please enjoy the beach at the end of Clark Island Rd.

Please drive slowly on Clark Island Rd and Patricia Lane as many people walk with children and dogs. 

WIFI NOTE: SummerMaine recognizes that access to the internet is as important as electricity and running water to most, if not all, people. However, Maine is a more rural state by nature and infrastructure. Accessibility is limited, often unpredictable and unreliable depending on location.
While some properties do have internet connection that is more “modern”, many properties are in locations that only allow for DSL or satellite connection which can be slower and at the mercy of weather, whole network connectivity and the like.
Please be aware SummerMaine cannot guarantee the speed or accessibility of the internet at any of our properties during your stay.
Outages of any type are not the basis for a refund. We cannot guarantee repair times or repair person availability.
With that said, if you have certain needs regarding the internet, please let us know and we will indicate the properties providing the service that best meets your needs.

All linens and towels are provided.
Dogs may be considered with owner approval, non-refundable fee and pet policy agreement. Please inquire.
No boats, kayaks or other watercraft are provided due to insurance restrictions. Please contact Port Clyde Kayaks for rental options.

Limited Household Consumables and items: The following items are typically found at the properties to get you started.
- Bathroom tissue/toilet paper 2 rolls per bathroom per guest turnover.
- Paper towels for kitchen 1 starter roll
- A few trash bags
- Coffee filters
- Propane or Charcoal for Grill. Grill tools- scraper/steel brush, spatula, tongs, fork. Oven Mitt.
-Dishwasher, liquid soap for sink dish washing, washing machine detergent. (limited amounts)
- New Kitchen sponge per guest turnover.
- All purpose counter cleaner
- All purpose bathroom cleaner
- Hand soap for Kitchen & bathroom

You should plan to bring with you or purchase shortly after arrival:
- Groceries, coffee, condiments
-Some properties will have dry spices and other items. We are not able to inventory these things…if you will want to have something special to cook with we suggest bringing it with you.
-Additional paper towels, toilet paper, paper/plastic ware etc.
-Laundry detergent
-Shampoos, body soaps and other personal hygiene products.
-Beach gear- beach towels, chairs, sunscreen, bug spray, etc.
-Baby equipment (you can always rent equipment from our friends at Mid-Coast Family Rentals)

Clothing: The weather can change dramatically from one day to the next. You will want to dress for the season. It is best to be prepared. Even in the warmest days of summer the nights can get cool. In the fall it is always a good idea to have a sweatshirt or jacket with you.

IN ADDITION TO THE RENTAL AMOUNT the following fees and tax apply
A CLEANING FEE, DOG FEE (if applicable),
9% TAX on Rent, Dog Fees and Cleaning Fees,
A Processing Fee of 9% of the rental amount.

Cleaning requirements before check out: Please leave all used towels in the tub. Please remove all items from the refrigerator and wash dishes. All furniture and furnishing MUST be returned to the original location they were in upon check in. Please bag all trash and leave in receptacle provided.

Check in and out times: Check in is 4:00 PM and Check out is 10:00 AM. Early check in/out is not allowed in the high season. Guests who have not vacated by 10:00 AM will be charged $25.00 every 15 minutes after 10:00 AM.
