Sunset Cove is located centrally on the St. George Peninsula and offers 200 feet of direct frontage on a private, peaceful saltwater cove. Mature trees shade the property and the large surrounding lawn and a gentle slope to the water makes for easy access – kayaking, fishing, swimming are all possible.
Although the larger cities of Rockland, Camden and Rockport, as well as smaller not –to-be missed towns such as Tenants Harbor, Port Clyde, Owls Head and Spruce Head, are close by Sunset Cove, offers a peaceful place to truly relax. Birds, water, leaves in the trees…that is what you will hear.
The house itself sits high on the lawn with lovely stonewalls surrounding it. It overlooks the front yard and the cove from large windows, a wonderful sun/screen room and a deck.
High ceilings create a sense of breeziness and brightness and a well thought-out floor plan makes this an inviting space for groups of all size.
The first floor has high ceilings and an open floor plan. The front door opens into the foyer with a stair case to the second floor directly to the right and an office/reading room to the left. The dining room, with a large farm house style table that can easily seat 8-10 people, over looks the living room and is adjacent to the kitchen.
The kitchen is lovely with modern, upgraded appliances, granite countertops and essentially everything (and maybe more) a chef of any degree would need to cook in house meals. A large living room, set up for two distinct areas, occupies the front of the house and offers lovely views from a wall of windows. To the right is find a seating area with a gas fireplace – there is also a flat screen television here. To the left of is another seating area perfectly situated for cozy chats, reading, watching the waterfront. A small breakfast table can also be found here.
A stunning and well-done sun/screen room is also located off the first floor – a bistro set and comfortable seating makes this the most popular room in the house during any time of the year. Directly off this room is a deck with outdoor furniture and a gas grill.
The master bedroom is also on the first floor with water views, a king sized bed, a flat screen television and an ensuite bathroom. A half bath is located in the hallway leading to the master bedroom.
The second floor is spacious and bright with three bedrooms, a game room and a full bathroom.
The first bedroom is spacious with a seating area, a view of the forest and a king bed. Down the hall find a game room with a large table and lots of board games and puzzles. The second bedroom on this floor is also large with a king bed and views of the water. A full bathroom (tub/shower) is located between the second and third bedroom.
The third bedroom occupies a large space and had two twin beds.
Sunset Cove is unique in the way it feels when you are staying there – while it is large enough to accommodate a larger group, the layout allows for a cozy, comfortable feeling even if just two people are occupying the house but need room for occasional guests.
This property allows approved dogs as well.
Fire Place use NOT permit at this property.

While some properties do have internet connection that is more “modern”, many properties are in locations that only allow for DSL or satellite connection which can be slower and at the mercy of weather, whole network connectivity and the like.
Please be aware SummerMaine cannot guarantee the speed or accessibility of the internet at any of our properties during your stay.
Outages of any type are not the basis for a refund. We cannot guarantee repair times or repair person availability.
With that said, if you have certain needs regarding the internet, please let us know and we will indicate the properties providing the service that best meets your needs.
All linens and towels are provided.
Dogs may be considered with owner approval, non-refundable fee and pet policy agreement. Please inquire.
No boats, kayaks or other watercraft are provided due to insurance restrictions. Please contact Port Clyde Kayaks for rental options.
Limited Household Consumables and items: The following items are typically found at the properties to get you started.
- Bathroom tissue/toilet paper 2 rolls per bathroom per guest turnover.
- Paper towels for kitchen 1 starter roll
- A few trash bags
- Coffee filters
- Propane or Charcoal for Grill. Grill tools- scraper/steel brush, spatula, tongs, fork. Oven Mitt.
-Dishwasher, liquid soap for sink dish washing, washing machine detergent. (limited amounts)
- New Kitchen sponge per guest turnover.

You should plan to bring with you or purchase shortly after arrival:
- Groceries, coffee, condiments
-Some properties will have dry spices and other items. We are not able to inventory these things…if you will want to have something special to cook with we suggest bringing it with you.
-Additional paper towels, toilet paper, paper/plastic ware etc.
-Shampoos, body soaps and other personal hygiene products.
-Beach gear- beach towels, chairs, sunscreen, bug spray, etc.
-Baby equipment (you can always rent equipment from our friends at Mid-Coast Family Rentals)
Clothing: The weather can change dramatically from one day to the next. You will want to dress for the season. It is best to be prepared. Even in the warmest days of summer the nights can get cool. In the fall it is always a good idea to have a sweatshirt or jacket with you.

Cleaning requirements before check out: Please leave all used towels in the tub. Please remove all items from the refrigerator and wash dishes. All furniture and furnishing MUST be returned to the original location they were in upon check in. Please bag all trash and leave in receptacle provided.
Check in and out times: Check in is 4:00 PM and Check out is 10:00 AM. Early check in/out is not allowed in the high season. Guests who have not vacated by 10:00 AM will be charged $25.00 every 15 minutes after 10:00 AM.
